ForgeCalc — software license
These terms and conditions of sale (hereinafter the "Terms") govern the sale of usage licenses for the software "ForgeCalc" (hereinafter "the Software") by the seller identified below (hereinafter "the Seller") to any individual or legal entity making a purchase (hereinafter "the Client"). Any order implies unreserved acceptance of these Terms.
The Software is offered in three versions: a free version ("Free", requiring no purchase and therefore not subject to these Terms since no sale is involved), and two paid lifetime versions ("Pro" and "Studio", see Article 3) — these Terms govern exclusively the purchase of the Pro and Studio versions.

The Seller offers for sale lifetime usage licenses for the Software, a Windows desktop application designed for managing 3D printing files (FDM and resin) and laser engraving / cutting, materials, modelling and 3D scanning services, electronic invoicing, and connecting to 3D printers (Bambu Lab via the cloud, Prusa printers via PrusaLink over the local network, Klipper printers via Moonraker). The Client purchases a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use — not the source code or the intellectual property of the Software (see Article 9).
The Software is available in two paid versions, both lifetime licenses (no subscription, no renewal, no recurring charge):
Pro — license valid for a single workstation, locked to that workstation's hardware identifier.
Studio — license valid for up to three workstations: for a single purchase, the Seller issues up to three separate license keys, each locked to the hardware identifier of the workstation for which it was requested. The three workstations may be activated simultaneously or at different times, with no time limit between activations.
Changing workstation: each license key remains locked to the hardware identifier of the workstation for which it was issued — it cannot be transferred free of charge to another workstation, including in the event of replacement, failure, or a change of computer. If the workstation changes, the Client must either:
upgrade to the Studio license (see Article 4) if they wish to cover multiple workstations, paying only the price difference; or
purchase a new, full Pro license for the new workstation, at the rate in effect at the time of that purchase.
This rule applies in the same way to each of the workstations covered by a Studio license: replacing one of the workstations already covered requires purchasing an additional key, under the same conditions. It is designed to ensure that a license covers exactly the number of workstations actually paid for, never more.
Features included per version (Free / Pro / Studio): see the detailed product description at the time of purchase (website, listing, or separate document). In summary, the Free version allows 3D file scanning, the interactive 3D preview, the guided discovery mode, manual on-screen invoicing and PDF export of quotes and invoices, those PDFs carrying a “trial version” notice; it includes neither electronic invoicing, nor CSV accounting export, nor the printer connection, nor the internal cost sheet, nor measurement of the failed-print rate from the history, and is limited to 3 new quotes per calendar month; the Pro and Studio versions remove that notice and unlock electronic invoicing (Factur-X and national formats), accounting export, live printer connection, the internal cost sheet and measurement of the failed-print rate, with the Studio version differing from the Pro version only in the number of workstations covered.
License prices, all taxes included (VAT not applicable, Art. 293 B of the French General Tax Code, where applicable — see Article 1):
Pro: €49 (one-time payment, lifetime license, 1 workstation).
Studio: €119 (one-time payment, lifetime license, up to 3 workstations).
Launch price. The prices above are launch prices, applicable to the first 100 licenses sold. Beyond that, the public prices are €69 (Pro) and €149 (Studio). The price applicable to an order is the one displayed on the sales page at the time of the order; a Client who bought at the launch price keeps their entire license, included updates and support, with no additional payment.
A Client who has already purchased the Pro license may upgrade to the Studio license by paying only the difference between the two prices (€70 during the launch, €80 afterwards — the difference between the two prices in effect at the time of the request), simply by requesting it from the Seller. The Seller then provides the additional license keys needed for the extra workstations (up to 2 more, for a total of 3). This additional payment constitutes a new, standalone order, subject to the same conditions as any order (see in particular Article 7 — Right of withdrawal).
The Seller reserves the right to change its prices at any time; the applicable price is the one in effect at the time of the order.
Orders are placed via:
on this website, through the secure Paddle checkout
Payment is made in full at the time of the order, by:
credit or debit card and PayPal, through Paddle
The order is considered final only once full payment has been received by the Seller.
The license is delivered electronically: after receiving payment, the Client sends the Seller the unique identifier of their workstation (displayed by the Software on its first launch) — for a Studio purchase, one identifier per workstation to be activated (up to three). The Seller generates and sends back the corresponding license key(s), by email, within 48 working hours.
In accordance with Article L. 221-18 of the French Consumer Code, a consumer Client is in principle entitled to a 14-day period to exercise their right of withdrawal on a distance purchase.
However, since this involves digital content supplied on an intangible medium (a software license), and in accordance with Article L. 221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code, this right of withdrawal cannot be exercised once performance (delivery of the license key) has begun after the Client's prior express agreement and express waiver of their right of withdrawal.
Accordingly, the Client acknowledges, at the time of the order, being informed that they lose their right of withdrawal as soon as the license key is delivered to them, and expressly requests that this delivery take place before the end of the withdrawal period. The Seller confirms this consent and waiver to the Client on a durable medium, in the email that accompanies the license key (Article L. 221-13 of the French Consumer Code).
This waiver is only valid if it was obtained explicitly (a dedicated checkbox, not pre-checked) before payment. If this waiver is not validly obtained, the standard 14-day right of withdrawal applies, to be exercised by written notice sent by email to the address given in Article 1.
The Seller remains liable for defects in conformity of the Software under the conditions set out in Articles L. 224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, as well as for hidden defects in the item sold under the conditions set out in Articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code.
The Software is provided "as is". The Seller does not warrant that the Software will operate without interruption or error, particularly with regard to features relying on unofficial third-party services (cloud connection to Bambu Lab printers, local PrusaLink connection to Prusa printers, Moonraker connection to Klipper printers), which may change independently of the Seller's control.
The Seller provides updates to the Software for five (5) years from the delivery of the license key: defect fixes, compatibility with supported Windows versions, and improvements to existing features. These updates are included in the price and give rise to no additional payment.
Beyond that period the license remains valid without limitation and the Software keeps working in its last installed version. Only the supply of new updates ceases.
Exception — changes imposed by law. Updates made necessary by a regulatory change directly affecting invoicing (a new e-invoicing format required by a State, a change to a mandatory legal wording) are provided with no time limit, for as long as the Seller continues trading.
A later major version bringing substantially new features may be offered as a separate, paid product. The Customer is never required to subscribe to it.
These provisions apply without prejudice to the legal guarantee of conformity under articles L. 224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, in particular the obligation to supply the updates, including security updates, necessary to keep the digital content in conformity.
The Software, its source code, its documentation, and all elements comprising it remain the exclusive property of the Seller. Purchasing a license grants the Client a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-assignable right of use, limited to the workstation for which the key was generated. Any unauthorized copying, resale, sublicensing, disassembly, decompilation, or distribution of the Software is strictly prohibited and constitutes infringement.
In particular, the Client shall not analyze the internal workings of the Software in order to reproduce its code, logic, or calculation methods (reverse engineering), nor disable, circumvent, or modify its licensing system. The only operations permitted are those expressly authorized by Article L. 122-6-1 of the French Intellectual Property Code, in particular decompilation strictly necessary to achieve interoperability of the Software with another program, where the required information is not already available; information obtained in this way may not be used to design, produce, or market substantially similar software.
The Seller shall not be held liable for indirect damages resulting from use of the Software (data loss, loss of business, commercial harm...), to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits the Seller's liability in cases of gross negligence, fraud, or cases where the law prohibits such limitation.
It is the Client's responsibility to regularly back up their own data (the Software provides a manual backup feature for this purpose).
Data provided by the Client as part of the purchase (name, email, workstation identifier) is used exclusively for the delivery and management of the license, and is not shared with third parties. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act ("Informatique et Libertés"), the Client has a right of access, rectification, erasure, and portability of their data, which may be exercised with the Seller at the address given in Article 1.
The Seller reserves the right to revoke a license in the event of a serious breach by the Client of these Terms, in particular in the event of sharing, resale, or fraudulent use of the license key, without prejudice to any legal proceedings.
For any complaint, the Client may contact the Seller using the contact details given in Article 1. Failing an amicable resolution, and in accordance with Article L. 616-1 of the French Consumer Code, a consumer Client has the right to use a consumer mediator free of charge. The Seller will provide the contact details of the competent mediator: CM2C — Centre de médiation de la consommation de conciliateurs de justice, 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris — www.cm2c.net.
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute not resolved amicably or through mediation, the competent French courts will be those with jurisdiction over the defendant's place of residence, or any other court designated by the applicable rules of jurisdiction in consumer matters.
The Seller reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. The applicable Terms are those in effect on the date of the order.
APPENDIX — Standard withdrawal form
In accordance with Article R. 221-1 of the French Consumer Code, this form is provided for prior information purposes. It only applies in cases where the Client has not validly waived their right of withdrawal before delivery of the license (see Article 7). The Client is not required to use this specific form and may notify their withdrawal by any other unambiguous written statement, sent by email to the address given in Article 1.
(Please complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract and are still entitled to do so.)
